The JEDEC standardization body of the semiconductor the Electronic Industries Alliance, announces successful completion publication of the standard DDR3 memory. The new type of memory aims not only to improve the current performance of traditional RAM, but also to reduce consumption, in fact the DDR3 have a voltage of 1.5 volts, while that of the existing DDR2 is 1.8 volts.
Such memories will be much used in the field of notebook computers and high performance. Another novelty is the density of memory chips in that DDR3 has grown from 512 Mbit to 8 Gbit.
